Yusril Ihza Mahendra said that Government Lost to the Critics in Image Building. Banning or boycotting media is a show of despair on the part of government.
The Statement of Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam about the term Gagak Hitam Bermata Kalong (Black Crow with Bat’s Eye) and call not to advertise in the media that idegrades the government continues to invite criticism. Former State Secretary, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, said that Dipo’s statement showed the government lost precisely against the critics in image building.
“We do not have to ban people [to say what they want to say], if there is something different, counter it with argument. I noticed that the government is not able to build an opinion, compared with those that criticize the government,” Yusril said after attending the public hearing at the House of Representatives Commission II on Thursday ( 24 / 2) afternoon as quoted by JPNN
According to him, responding to criticism of the government is an art in itself. “It’s a matter of art of government to build an image, instead of banning people opinion,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ray Rangkuti, Executive Director of Lingkar Madani untuk Indonesia said that SBY should admonished Dipo Alam if he does not want to be called undemocratic.
If Not Want Called antidemocrati
